Finding place: Holland (Ieper, Remerswaal, Nieuwlande, Brugia, Amsterdam and other)
Details: h.: 42mm w.: 36mm
Meaning: one of many patterns of “tournament badges”. Badges like this were sold as souvenirs for fans. Often painted in colours of the knight somebody was supporting. Sometimes it had a coat of arms on the shield. Mostly they were mass produced. This particular pattern comes from Reimerswaal but similar were used all around Europe.
